Classes and Workshops
Classes and workshops can be tailored to all levels of ability
and musical/cultural understanding. I have equipment to cater for groups of up to 120 with
drums & percussion, smaller groups with balafons, bolons & gongos. More or less anything is percussively possible.
Prices vary depending on location, duration, numbers etc... Dance classes & workshops can either be arranged separately
or a drum/dance session booked. A more cultural ‘show
& tell’ style workshop can also be provided, with traditional
African artefacts like cooking equipment, reed brushes and so
on. Also on offer is storytelling or a more 'theatre' based approach to music using stories.
Typically charges are £150 for a local workshop of up to
2 hours in either drumming or dance, the same for workshops
further afield, plus travel expenses. Very local workshops (Brighton) £50 for an hour. Rates
for day workshops incorporating both drum & dance or general
‘African music' sessions can be negotiated. Charges are around £40 per hour, £150 for a half day and £250 per day.
Performance
Performances or talks using a variety of West African
instruments. Participatory performance or drum/dance workshops for childrens' or adults' parties can also be catered for.
The Bognor Group provides performance opportunities for drummers.

Regular
Classes
Tuesdays 7.30-9.30, Aldwick Baptist Church, Gossamer Lane, Bognor Regis. PO213DD. £6 plus £2 drum hire.
All levels welcome. This class performs regularly in the summer season at various community events.Next performance will be at the Hotham Park Green Fayre on 3rd of May at around 12.30 lunchtime

Mondays 7.00-9.30, April 28th - May 19th A 4 week mixed ability course in jembe drumming suitable for all abilities. Either £8 per class or £28 for the course (if paid in advance or on the 1st session). Jembes available to rent and doundouns provided.. £6 plus £2 drum hire.
